West Central District had their first meeting of 2010 on April 26 at Clarian Arnett Hospital. Mary Campbell presented Tai Chi for you and your patient. Members also participated in some simple movements and techniques that can be used to improve balance and relaxation.
Topics and schedule for meetings were discussed. West Central will continue to follow school year meeting schedule as a rule. We plan to have our next meeting in September. We would like to have a presentation on the new Medicare regulations in effect October 1.
Other meeting topics discussed included life coaching, therapeutic listening, Certified Aging in Place Specialist certification, developmentally delayed programs (ARC), muscle taping, theses presentation from U of I students, DO vs. MD- what are the differences, and international therapy.
