The DEI committee is proud to announce its first book club event. The event will take place in-person on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. For Black History Month, the group will discuss the article Occupation, Injustice, and Anti-Black Racism in the United States of America by Ryan Lavalley and Khalilah Robinson Johnson (linked below). The article discusses how anti-Black racism has impacted occupation in America and the implications for occupational therapy practitioners. The event will be held  at Open Kitchen, a Black-owned restaurant located at 4022 Shelby Street Indianapolis, IN 46227. The event will begin at 6:00pm to allow time to order food. Discussion will begin around 6:45pm. There will not be a virtual option. Due to the nature of the discussion, it will not be recorded. Members can earn free CEUs; non-member fees are $20.00.
