As the global population ages, the concept of "aging in place" has gained prominence, emphasizing the desire for older adults to live independently in their own homes and communities for as long as possible.

Hailey Conway, CAPS, OTR, OTD, MS and Sam Koelmel, CAPS, OTD, OTR, MS who are co-owners of In Home Preferred will elaborate on the crucial role of occupational therapists in facilitating aging in place, focusing on innovative strategies, practical interventions, and interdisciplinary collaboration to support older adults in maintaining their independence, safety, and quality of life.

After this event, participants will be able to:

1. Define aging in place and its significance for older adults.

2. Identify home modifications and adaptations to enhance home safety and accessibility.

3. Emphasize personalized interventions tailored to unique needs of older adults.

4. Discuss strategies for fostering community engagement and social participation.

5. Highlight the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration to create comprehensive discharge plans.
